Dear Madame Rouge,
Its always good to hear from you. I am in real need of extra income right now and I've always welcome babysitting jobs with open arms; As you know I am very good with children, I am firm with discipline and I don't overindulge them.
I have read your new ad placement thoroughly and I have a few concerns regarding the schedule. First, may I please request that you enlighten me a bit more about what I need to do in your household and for how many hours a day? A list of my tasks with regards to your children will make things easier for the both of us. I do not want to overstep any boundaries you may have in place with them right now. If the schedule is not too tight (like working full weekends and holidays) I would surely still consider babysitting for you in the coming months.
Thanks for considering my application.

A sample cover letter for an musical entertainer such as a pianist, keyboardist or classical musician for a cruise ship position.
Dear Human Resources Officer,
I have previously worked as a department store pianist on a seasonal basis performing on special events during Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter holidays. My regular gigs include fine dining establishments and night spots such as the Cafe Bleu and the Razzmatazz Bistro.
I can improvise impromptu and play requests from patrons. I am also part of the local Cornwall symphony orchestra, playing piano accompaniment for musical celebrities for public festivities, charity events, dinner galas, supported by the city hall.
I am a skilled entertainer as I can motivate a crowd to sing-along and dance to the music. I can do weddings, birthdays, baptisms, bar mitzvahs, anniversaries and corporate parties.
I have enclosed a copy of my demo and resume and would welcome the opportunity to sit with you for an interview. I would also be delighted to play some of my music if there any scheduled auditions in the coming week. You may reach me at 55-7686-8967 for any updates.
Thank you so much
