Sample Letter Introducing Yourself as a Nanny
Dear Ma'am,
I am Yuna Lanesworth. I saw your ad at the Sunshine Daycare looking for a stay-in Nanny for your toddler. As you've heard the Marsdale family are moving to Van Nuys, and I've worked for them as a full-time nanny for 5 years now.
Unfortunately, I am not moving out with this wonderful family as they make a new life in Van Nuys, as you may understand, I grew up here in this neighborhood and I have no plans of relocating. I have been a Catalina resident for over 26 years now.
I'm still looking after their eldest Daniel until the end of the month, which is their final week here. Mrs. Gemma Marsdale will welcome any call from you with regards to my care and duties as a nanny. I also have have other references which includes Teacher Maria from Sunshine Daycare. If you have any questions or concerns, I would welcome an interview and gladly answer them over coffee.
Thank you,
Pam

Babysitting Cover Letter for Past Employer
How do you approach a previous employer about working again with her? Here is a babysitting cover letter raising all your past concerns such as schedule and house rules.
Dear Madame Rouge,
Its always good to hear from you. I am in real need of extra income right now and I've always welcome babysitting jobs with open arms; As you know I am very good with children, I am firm with discipline and I don't overindulge them.
I have read your new ad placement thoroughly and I have a few concerns regarding the schedule. First, may I please request that you enlighten me a bit more about what I need to do in your household and for how many hours a day? A list of my tasks with regards to your children will make things easier for the both of us. I do not want to overstep any boundaries you may have in place with them right now. If the schedule is not too tight (like working full weekends and holidays) I would surely still consider babysitting for you in the coming months.
Thanks for considering my application.
Always,
Bernadette

Nanny Cover Letter
A sample coverletter for a nanny, governess, child care expert or aupair
Dear Madame,
I am a Nanny who has been solely in charge of three children on a daily basis. Looking after children of different ages is not a job for the faint-hearted. My 10 years experience in childrearing has allowed me to build up a great reservoir of resilience, patience and energy which has resulted in a stable and comforting
environment for the children I care for.
Due to the recent divorce of my employers, the children are being sent to their respective boarding schools. Sadly, I have been given noticed to search for other job opportunities. Mrs. Whitford, of whom you know as a teacher at St. Agnes, has referred me of your need for a full-time nanny.
I am skilled in cooking, baking, cleaning, organizing clutter and tending to children's need at home and school. I respect any employer's stance on parenting as I have encountered are often unique and varied per family. I intend to give the best care I can provide, for the well-being and welfare of the children are my priority.
A brief meeting to discuss your parenting approaches, houserules, boundaries or any concerns would be greatly appreciated. You may call me anytime at 555-920-4370. I look forward to meeting you
Sincerely,
Josephine Aubrige

Cover Letter for an Aupair
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Von Strauss,
I have worked as an aupair for a French family. They were my host family for a duration of my six months in Paris. I was in charge of the day-to-day care of three young children- ages 3, 6 and 9 years old. Though I am only 19 years old, I am quite mature for my age, as I am able to handle the energy and inquisitiveness of such young children.
My housekeeping and nanny duties in the Cambronne household included- taking the children to school and taking them to after school activities such as ballet and piano lessons, purchasing groceries, preparing meals for the children, maintaining good hygiene practices in the household and bedtime routines.
Personally, I am health-conscious and a non-smoker. I am hardworking, reliable and trustworthy. I have a genuine interest in the well-being of children, I love interacting and playing with them. I do not easily tire or stress out as I am very patient with kids.
The possibility of living in Berlin as an Aupair is quite exciting for me. I have considerable experience in living abroad and living with host families. I respect the household rules, and I am considerate of a family's privacy. I speak good english and I am generally cheerful and easy to live with.
If my skills and experience please you, I am available to discuss your expectations in an interview at your convenience.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Meredith Beech Combe

Child Care Worker Cover Letter
Dear sir/ madam,
I am writing to you because I was wondering if you had any jobs available.
I recently finished college. I have just finished my 1st Diploma in Health and Social care alongside my Certificate in Childcare and Education at Mentforth College. I also hold a current Food Hygiene Certificate and a First Aid certificate. Also, I have studied and reached level two in Sign Language, a community class I take one evening a week.
As you will see from my C.V, I have previous experience of working with children- as part of the Certificate courses, I undertook a weekly placement. I am currently working as a volunteer in a youth club providing care for children aged between 4 to 11 years old. By working within these different childcare environments, I have become familiar with the planning and organization involved in providing childcare to a variety of age ranges and needs.
I feel that it is my previous experience, enthusiasm and conscientiousness that would make me an excellent addition to your Nursery. I particularly enjoy working with young children as I find it rewarding being part of their day to day development. Please feel free to contact me via the fax number listed above or the email address found on my resume. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
applicant
